Longest Pastry Ever Made

Lebanon has baked its way into the Guinness World Records by creating the longest pastry ever recorded, delighting food lovers and setting a new benchmark for culinary celebrations. The record‑breaking creation was achieved on 22 November 2015 by Amjad High School in Beirut, where students, teachers and local chefs collaborated to produce a massive man’ousheh — a traditional Lebanese flatbread topped with thyme, olive oil and za’atar.

Measuring 31.97 metres (104 ft 10.65 in), the giant man’ousheh surpassed all previous records for pastry length, turning heads with its impressive scale and the community spirit behind its making.

Organisers said the event celebrated not only Lebanon’s rich culinary heritage but also teamwork and cultural pride, as dozens of participants helped knead, bake and assemble the enormous flatbread. The achievement continues to be a joyful testament to Lebanese cuisine’s global appeal and the imaginative ways traditional foods can bring people together.
