Kiplimo Smashes Half Marathon World Record

Ugandan long-distance runner Jacob Kiplimo delivered a historic performance by smashing the world record in the Half Marathon, stunning spectators with an extraordinary run in Barcelona, Spain.

Kiplimo produced a blistering pace throughout the race and crossed the finish line in 56 minutes and 42 seconds, breaking the previous record by a significant margin. The remarkable feat took place during the Barcelona Half Marathon, one of the world’s premier road running events.

The Ugandan athlete, who previously won bronze in the 10,000 metres at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, maintained a strong and consistent rhythm throughout the course. His performance demonstrated exceptional endurance and speed, making it one of the fastest half marathon runs ever recorded.

Race officials confirmed that the result would be submitted to World Athletics for official ratification as the new world record.
