The sculpture is the creation of French artist Amélie Dubois, who spent over eight months designing and constructing the installation. Using eco-friendly and fire-retardant materials, Dubois combined artistic vision with engineering expertise to ensure both visual impact and structural safety.
Commissioned as part of Lyon’s annual Festival of Lights, the candle sculpture celebrates the city’s historic association with light and illumination while promoting creativity and sustainable artistry. Officials confirmed that the installation surpasses all previous records for candle-themed sculptures, earning it an official place in the Guinness World Records.
