The kurta registered in the Guinness Book of World Records measures 66 feet 7 inches in length and 27 feet 6 inches in width. Due to its enormous size, this kurta has gone viral on social media.
World’s Longest Kurta Recognized by Guinness World Records
In India, kurtas are traditionally worn during festivals. However, the kurta in question is so enormous that even 10 people together couldn’t wear it. Even someone as large as The Great Khali would require several people his size to fit into it. This unique garment is now officially registered in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s longest kurta.
Kurta Dimensions
- Length: 66 feet 7 inches (20.3 meters)
- Width: 27 feet 6 inches (8.38 meters)
Due to its colossal size, the kurta has gone viral on social media, with many users jokingly asking where they would find someone large enough to wear it. The Guinness World Records even shared a video of the kurta on their official Instagram account.
Who Made It?
The kurta was crafted by Bayati Real Estate Investment Company in Baghdad, Iran. In Iran, such a garment is known as a “Thobe”, similar to a kurta but with some design differences, such as a standing collar and three buttons near the neckline.
Special Features
The kurta’s light brown color and green buttons enhance its visual appeal. The fabric used is of premium quality, making it not just the longest but also a well-designed garment. Before this, the record for the largest kurta was held by Syed Chand Shah from Pakistan in 2019, whose kurta was 12 feet 6 inches long—significantly smaller than the new record-holder.
