4-Year-Old Trisha Thosar Makes History at National Film Awards

In a heart‑warming moment at the 71st National Film Awards, Trisha Vivek Thosar, just four years old, won the Best Child Artist Award for her captivating performance in the Marathi film Naal 2. Her achievement not only earned her one of Indian cinema’s most prestigious honours but also made her one of the youngest recipients in the history of the National Film Awards.

The ceremony, held at Vigyan Bhavan on September 23, 2025, was presided over by President Droupadi Murmu, who presented awards across major categories including Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Director. Amid established stars such as Shah Rukh Khan and Mohanlal receiving top honours, Trisha’s win emerged as one of the most memorable moments of the evening.

Trisha earned the accolade for her role as Chimi (also known as Revati) in Naal 2, a sequel to the critically acclaimed Marathi film Naal. Despite her young age — she was reportedly just three years old during filming — her natural expressiveness and screen presence deeply impressed the National Awards jury. Clad in a delicate saree, Trisha walked up to the stage amidst applause to receive the Best Child Artist trophy from the President, capturing hearts with her innocence and charm. Her accomplishment highlights not only her individual talent but also the growing recognition of regional cinema and the powerful contribution of child actors in Indian films.

Trisha’s win marks a significant milestone in Indian cinema and is expected to open up further opportunities for the young star in both Marathi and national cinema circles.
