A 15-year-old Nigerian artist has made history by creating the world’s largest art canvas, using his talent to raise awareness for autism. Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke, who is on the autism spectrum, was formally presented with his Guinness World Records certificate on April 2, 2025—a day recognized as World Autism Acceptance Day.
The record-breaking artwork, titled “Impossibility is a Myth,” measures a staggering 12,381.02 square meters (over 133,000 square feet), making it larger than a standard soccer field. The massive painting, which features a multi-colored ribbon symbolizing autism and various emojis, was unveiled at Eagle Square in Nigeria’s capital city of Abuja. The record was verified in November 2024, with the public unveiling strategically timed to coincide with a month-long celebration of autism awareness.
Kanyeyachukwu’s art serves as a powerful form of communication. His mother, Silvia Tagbo-Okeke, noted that her son’s art tells his story on his behalf. The project, which also aimed to raise funds for the Zeebah Foundation, a non-profit supporting autistic individuals in Nigeria, has been widely celebrated. Nigerian President Bola Tinubu praised the young artist on social media, calling him “Brave, Audacious, and Tenacious” and a source of national pride.
The monumental achievement not only redefines creative boundaries but also serves as a poignant message of hope and inclusion, demonstrating that passion and talent can overcome any perceived limitations.
