In a landmark initiative promoting environmental awareness, Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), Gujarat State set a New World Record for the maximum number of students taking an oath to save the environment during a large-scale statewide campaign.
The record was achieved as part of the celebration of 70 glorious years of BMS, through a three-day mega event titled “Paryavaran Sankalp”. The initiative was led by Shri Jigneshbhai D. Majmundar (President) and Shri Girishkumar L. Patel (General Secretary), with strong organizational support from Shri Rajendra Sinh Chudasama (Vice-President, BMS).
The campaign witnessed massive participation across 3,294 schools in Gujarat, supported by 8,158 state officials and social workers. A staggering 5,02,323 people, including 4,66,611 students and 27,554 local citizens, came together simultaneously to take a solemn oath pledging to protect and preserve the environment.
This unprecedented participation highlights the growing awareness and commitment towards environmental conservation among the younger generation and society at large.
Organizers described the achievement as a powerful step toward building a sustainable future, emphasizing the importance of collective responsibility in addressing environmental challenges.
The record-setting event stands as a proud moment for Gujarat and serves as an inspiring example of how unified action can create a meaningful impact on environmental protection.
