Thousands of Runners Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Kilts at Cleveland Race

A sea of green and tartan flooded the streets of Cleveland as thousands of runners marked St. Patrick’s Day with a festive and unconventional twist—racing in kilts.

The annual themed race, which has become a beloved tradition in the city, drew participants from across the region. Many runners traded their usual athletic gear for traditional Scottish kilts, adding a lively cultural flair to the already spirited holiday celebration.

Spectators lined the route, cheering on participants while enjoying live music, Irish dancing, and festive decorations. The event blended fitness with cultural pride, creating a unique atmosphere that celebrated both Irish and Celtic heritage.

Organizers said the race is not only about competition but also about community and fun. “It’s about bringing people together, celebrating tradition, and staying active,” one organizer noted.

Participants of all ages and skill levels joined the run, with some competing seriously while others simply enjoyed the experience in creative costumes. Awards were given not only for speed but also for the most festive outfits.
