Largest Easter Bread with Cheese (“Pasca”)

Romania has added a spectacular culinary achievement to its cultural legacy with the creation of the world’s largest Easter bread with cheese, known as “Pasca.” Deeply rooted in Romanian Orthodox traditions, Pasca is a symbolic Easter delicacy made from sweet dough, fresh cheese, eggs, and raisins, traditionally prepared to mark the celebration of the Resurrection.

The record-breaking Pasca was prepared by a large team of bakers and culinary experts who worked together over several days to scale up the traditional recipe while preserving its authentic taste and texture. Using massive quantities of flour, fresh cheese, eggs, sugar, and dairy, the bakers carefully followed age-old techniques adapted for industrial-sized preparation. Special ovens and molds were designed to bake the giant Pasca evenly without compromising quality.

Measuring several meters in diameter and weighing hundreds of kilograms, the enormous Easter bread drew thousands of spectators, turning the record attempt into a festive public celebration. Religious leaders, local officials, and food inspectors were present to witness the process, ensuring that hygiene, safety, and traditional standards were maintained throughout.

After the successful completion and verification of the record, the giant Pasca was shared with the public, reinforcing the spirit of community and generosity that defines Easter celebrations in Romania. Portions were also distributed to charitable organizations, ensuring the achievement carried social value alongside its world-record status.
