A quirky and colossal culinary tribute has taken the world record stage: the World’s Largest Boiled Peanut Sculpture now stands as a standout attraction at the Annual Bluffton Boiled Peanut Festival in Bluffton, South Carolina. The giant artwork celebrates the beloved Southern snack and draws crowds every year.
Crafted from a mix of pine studs, plywood, chicken wire, spray foam insulation and painted exterior finishes, the sculpture stretches over 20 feet long and weighs nearly half a ton making it the largest boiled peanut sculpture in the world according to record‑tracking organisations.
The oversized peanut was originally built in 2013 to promote the festival and showcase the region’s famous boiled peanut culture. Each year during the September celebration featuring a peanut parade, cook‑offs and eating contests the gargantuan peanut is displayed proudly for visitors to enjoy and photograph.
Festival organisers and local enthusiasts say the sculpture has become both a symbol of Bluffton’s community spirit and a fun way to honour a classic Southern snack enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.
