Nikon has set a Guinness World Record for the largest human image of a camera, bringing together hundreds of participants to create a stunning human‑shaped tribute to the iconic photographic tool.
On 17 June 2017, Nikon’s Italian distributor Nital S.p.A. organised an ambitious event at the historic Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi in northern Italy, where 1,454 people wore colour‑coded T‑shirts to form the outline of a classic camera complete with lens, viewfinder and body. An official Guinness World Records adjudicator attended to verify the record and confirm the achievement.
The formation was part of Nikon’s 100th anniversary celebrations, symbolising a century of innovation in imaging and visual storytelling. Participants included customers, employees, photography enthusiasts and collaborators who stood together to recreate the shape of a Nikon camera when viewed from above.
Organisers also released a video capturing the record‑setting moment, showcasing the impressive coordination and photographic spirit that brought the human camera to life. The achievement reflects both Nikon’s legacy in the imaging industry and the power of collective creativity.
