Potterheads across Europe are preparing their trunks and owls for a new kind of magical journey. LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort has officially announced the development of the world’s first-ever hotel entirely dedicated to the Harry Potter universe, bringing the Wizarding World to life just a few hours’ drive from Luxembourg, France, and Belgium.
The groundbreaking project, a collaboration between Merlin Entertainments and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, is set to open in 2026. It marks the first time that official, fully immersive Harry Potter accommodations will be available to the public, blending the beloved aesthetic of LEGO Harry Potter with the grandeur of Hogwarts.
Forget ordinary guest rooms—this hotel is designed to be an extension of the magic. Early details reveal a level of immersion previously only seen in major theme parks across the Atlantic.
House Pride: Rooms will be meticulously styled in the colors and heraldry of the four Hogwarts houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin.
Iconic Details: Fans can look forward to sleeping in beds inspired by Ron Weasley’s four-poster in the Gryffindor dormitory, surrounded by wizarding props and “enchanted” décor.
Magical Communal Spaces: Beyond the rooms, the hotel will feature themed common areas and potentially a specialized bar offering a LEGO-style take on Wizarding World treats.
The hotel is the centerpiece of a massive expansion that includes the world’s first LEGO Harry Potter Land. This new park area will feature brick-built recreations of iconic locations like Hogwarts Castle, Diagon Alley, and the Forbidden Forest, complete with interactive adventures and encounters with magical creatures.
“This new destination will allow fans to physically experience the wizarding world like never before,” said Peter van Roden, EVP of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences. “It’s about stepping into the familiar LEGO Harry Potter aesthetic fans have been constructing at home for years.”
Located in Günzburg, Bavaria—roughly halfway between Munich and Stuttgart—the resort is perfectly positioned for a “dream weekend” for European fans.
From Luxembourg: Approximately a 4.5 to 5-hour drive or train journey.
From France/Belgium: Easily accessible via major rail links or short-haul flights into Munich (MUC) or Stuttgart (STR).
