AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT – September 18, 2025 – Adani Cement, in collaboration with its associate M/s PSP Infra, has achieved a world record for the largest religious temple raft foundation casting. The monumental feat took place at the Umiya Dham temple near Ahmedabad, marking a significant engineering and spiritual milestone.
The record-breaking project involved a continuous, uninterrupted 54-hour concrete pour using a massive 24,100 cubic meters of concrete. The foundation, which will support the Jagat Janani Maa Umiya Temple, is an impressive 450 feet by 400 feet with an 8-foot depth.
To accomplish this, Adani Cement employed a synchronized network of 26 Ready-Mix Concrete (RMX) plants and over 285 transit mixers, with more than 600 skilled workers and experts working in shifts around the clock. The operation was meticulously planned to maintain a constant flow of concrete and ensure structural integrity.
A key highlight of the achievement was the use of Adani’s proprietary ECOMaxX M45 grade low-carbon concrete, a sustainable mix that incorporated 66% Supplementary Cementitious Material (SCM). According to the company, this resulted in a 60% reduction in the project’s carbon footprint, underscoring a commitment to green construction practices.
The temple, once completed, is envisioned to be the world’s tallest temple at 504 feet and the spiritual nucleus of a 60-acre social and cultural campus. The record-setting foundation was witnessed by over 1,000 attendees on-site and more than 10,000 online, with the accomplishment officially recorded in the World Records Organizations
