Chandler Dad Runs 10 km Daily for 1,107 Days, Inspires Community with Dedication

In a powerful testament to consistency and mental fortitude, a Chandler father has turned a pandemic-era challenge into a record-breaking achievement. Chad Taylor has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records for the most consecutive days to run 10 km, a feat he accomplished every single day for 1,107 days straight.

From Pandemic Challenge to World Record

Taylor’s incredible running streak began on April 1, 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Seeking a way to stay active and motivated while races were canceled, he set out to run 10 km every day for a year. That initial goal quickly evolved into a lifestyle. He completed his 1,107th consecutive 10k run on April 1, 2025, reaching the five-year mark of his journey.

Over the course of his streak, Taylor logged a total of 11,070 km (6,863.4 mi), a distance greater than a round-trip from his home in Arizona to London. He accomplished this feat regardless of the weather, his travel schedule for work, or his daily obligations.

“April of 2020 was the heart of COVID,” Taylor told Guinness World Records. “I am a runner and needed something to challenge me… I found this record and never looked back.”

A Family and Community Inspired

While the record is a remarkable athletic achievement, Taylor’s primary motivation was to inspire his family. His daughter, Hana, now 10, captured the family’s admiration in a heartfelt letter. “It is amazing what my daddy has done, to get up every day and run 6.2 miles,” she wrote.

His dedication has resonated throughout his community, with friends and neighbors often joining him on his daily runs. Beyond personal achievement, Taylor has also used his streak to make a difference, raising funds for the Phoenix Children’s Hospital. His story is a powerful reminder that an unwavering commitment to a goal can not only lead to personal triumphs but can also inspire those around us.
