Madhya Pradesh Woman Delivers Heaviest Newborn in State History at 5.43 kg

In a rare and record-setting birth, doctors at a government hospital in Madhya Pradesh successfully delivered a baby weighing an astonishing 5.43 kilograms, setting a new state record for the heaviest newborn.

The baby girl, born via C-section, is healthy and under observation along with her mother, who is also reported to be in stable condition. The delivery took place at the District Hospital in Khargone, where the medical team described it as a “miracle case,” given the risks typically associated with such high birth weights.

According to the attending gynecologist, the average newborn weight in India ranges between 2.5 kg and 3.5 kg, making this delivery particularly extraordinary. “We were fully prepared for complications, but everything went smoothly. Both mother and child are doing very well,” the doctor said.

Local health officials lauded the hospital staff for their expertise and swift response. The event has attracted widespread attention from both the public and medical community, with pediatricians confirming this is one of the heaviest recorded births in the region’s history.

The baby’s family expressed immense joy and gratitude toward the doctors and staff. “She’s our miracle baby,” said the father, beaming with pride.

The case will now be submitted to the state health department for official recognition in medical records.
