Shri Romalo Ram from Jammu & Kashmir Conferred Padma Shri for Exceptional Contribution to Art

In a proud moment for Jammu & Kashmir and the Indian art community, the Government of India has conferred the Padma Shri on Shri Romalo Ram for his outstanding contribution to the field of Art.

A legendary figure in Dogri and traditional folk performance, Shri Romalo Ram has dedicated his life to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Jammu & Kashmir. Known for his mastery of folk singing, storytelling, and theatre, he has been a vital force in keeping regional art forms alive, particularly among the younger generation.

Through decades of dedication, Shri Ram has used his artistic voice to tell stories of tradition, community, and identity, ensuring that the folk arts of Jammu resonate far beyond the borders of the Union Territory.
