In recognition of his exceptional contributions to the agricultural sector, the Government of India has conferred the prestigious Padma Shri on Shri Sanjay Anant Patil from Goa under the category of Others – Agriculture.
A progressive farmer and grassroots innovator, Shri Sanjay Anant Patil has revolutionized farming practices in Goa through sustainable techniques, community engagement, and knowledge-sharing. Known for blending traditional wisdom with modern agricultural methods, he has significantly improved crop yields, water conservation, and organic farming across the region.
For over two decades, Shri Patil has worked tirelessly to uplift the farming community, conducting training workshops for fellow farmers, promoting eco-friendly practices, and introducing innovative models for integrated farming. His efforts have helped hundreds of small and marginal farmers achieve self-reliance and economic stability.
“This honour is not just mine, but belongs to every Goan farmer who works with his hands and heart to feed the nation,” Shri Patil said humbly upon receiving the award.
Agricultural experts, local leaders, and environmentalists have lauded the recognition, calling Shri Patil a “pioneer of sustainable farming in Goa and a role model for the next generation of agri-entrepreneurs.”
