Two friends from Bristol have officially broken the world record for the longest table tennis rally, dedicating their incredible achievement to a deeply personal cause.
Dan Ives and Lloyd Gregory rallied for an astonishing 13 hours, 36 minutes, and 36 seconds at PingPod in Bristol, surpassing the previous record by 1 hour and 46 minutes. Their effort was part of a heartfelt fundraiser for Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity.
The cause is especially meaningful to Dan, who lost his daughter, Lily Rae Ives, in 2020. The record-breaking rally has so far raised over £5,000 to support families affected by similar loss.
“It was exhausting, emotional, and unforgettable,” said Dan. “We did it for Lily and every family that’s suffered this kind of heartbreak.”
The achievement was celebrated by supporters and representatives from Sands, who praised the duo’s determination, endurance, and the powerful message behind their rally.
Their feat not only sets a new Guinness World Record — it serves as a moving tribute and beacon of hope for grieving families across the UK.
