Mark Ormrod, a former Royal Marine and triple amputee from Plymouth, has made a bold attempt to set a Guinness World Record as the shortest person to pull a 2.5-tonne truck over a distance of 100 metres (328 feet).
Standing at 4ft 3in (1.29m), Ormrod completed the feat in 17 minutes on an icy track at Tavistock running ground, despite harsh weather conditions that caused him to slip and slide throughout the challenge.
“It was brutal out there,” said Ormrod. “But I’ve never let obstacles define me — physical or otherwise.”
This marks his second attempt at the record, after a prior try in September was unsuccessful. The outcome of this latest attempt is currently pending official confirmation from Guinness World Records.
Ormrod, a motivational speaker and decorated veteran, lost both legs and his right arm while serving in Afghanistan. His determination to push beyond physical limits continues to inspire people around the world.
