In a stunning display of speed and talent, Canadian teenage swimmer Summer McIntosh obliterated the 400m freestyle world record previously held by Australian Olympic champion Ariarne Titmus.
McIntosh clocked an astonishing time of 3:56.08 at the national trials in Toronto, eclipsing Titmus’s record set at the 2022 World Championships.
Titmus, known for her fierce competitiveness and grace, congratulated McIntosh on her phenomenal achievement. “An absolute phenomenon,” Titmus praised McIntosh. “Records are made to be broken, and this is a huge step forward for the sport.”
McIntosh, just 18, continues to establish herself as one of the world’s most promising young swimmers, with her eyes set on the Paris Olympics. Her record-breaking performance cements her status as a force to be reckoned with in the pool.
