Young Blind Chess Prodigy Himanshi Rathi Sets New Record with 20 Medals in 10 Years

Himanshi Rathi, has emerged as an inspiring young blind chess player from Ahmedabad. Over the course of 10 years, from 2011 to 2022, Himanshi participated in more than 25 national and international chess championships. Demonstrating exceptional skill and determination, she won a total of 20 medals, including 18 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze.

Trained under the expert guidance of Coaches Ashwin Makwana and Hemal Thanki, Himanshi’s outstanding achievements were officially recognized when she set a new record on June 3, 2023, at Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.

Her story is a beacon of hope and motivation for differently-abled athletes across the nation, proving that challenges can be overcome with talent, dedication, and support.
