In an inspiring display of dedication and civic responsibility, a team of 11 committed individuals carried out a 28-hour nonstop cleanliness drive to support Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” and raise public awareness about cleanliness and hygiene.
The marathon cleaning effort began at 7:45 AM on September 4, 2015, and concluded at 11:45 AM on September 5, 2015, taking place at the Suchna Kendra Choraha, a prominent public space in Bhilwara, Rajasthan.
The team—comprising Dr. Abhilash Modi, Dipesh Joshi, Ravi Panchal, Utkarsh Singh, Kailash Lohar, Jaswant Narwaliya, Santosh Chandel, Bhagirath Regar, Vijay Babu Gour, Shubham Yadav, and Ajay Jhanwar—worked tirelessly around the clock, collecting waste, cleaning streets, and engaging with passersby to emphasize the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
This self-driven initiative not only echoed the ethos of the Swachh Bharat (Clean India) campaign but also set a shining example for citizen participation in national missions. The group aimed to demonstrate that sustainable change begins at the grassroots level, and that even a small team, with determination and unity, can make a big difference.
Local residents, civic authorities, and media appreciated the team’s dedication, lauding the effort as a model of youth-led social responsibility and a beacon of community engagement.
The initiative adds momentum to the broader Swachh Bharat movement, reinforcing the message that “Cleanliness is not just a campaign, but a commitment to a better future.”
