Honor Philippines, a smart devices brand, set a Guinness World Record before even launching its newest smartphone, the Honor X9c 5G. The phone achieved the title for “The Most People Performing a Mobile Phone Drop Test Simultaneously,” with 264 participants dropping their Honor X9c 5G phones at the same time.
“A win for Honor is a win for the Filipinos,” said Stephen Cheng, VP of Honor Philippines. “Prior to its launch, the toughest phone already set a Guinness World Record, and this is a feat for everyone who supported us since day one. But we still have big news to share with everyone, so stay tuned on Jan. 10.”
The Honor X9c 5G is designed to withstand tough conditions, boasting an all-angle triple defense feature with an SGS 5-Star rating for Drop Resistance. It can endure drops of up to 2 meters and features water resistance with an IP65M rating, allowing it to survive underwater for up to five minutes at a depth of 25 centimeters.
One of the phone’s key features is its ability to handle extreme temperatures. In a “boiling test,” the Honor X9c 5G showed resilience against temperatures as low as -40°C and as high as 70°C. This capability is expected to generate buzz online.
