Homashikha Chakraborty, a 9-year-old prodigy and Class IV student at Pecharthal Higher Secondary School, has earned a place in the India Book of Records as a “wonder girl” for her extraordinary knowledge and memory skills.
Daughter of Mithun, a clerk in the Education Department, and Kanika Devi, a teacher, Homashikha has been homeschooled and nurtured with dedication from an early age. Her hard work and talent were recently recognised with the India Book of Records RBR Achiever Award.
In her stunning performance, Homashikha named 195 countries and their capitals in just 2 minutes and 28 seconds, followed by naming all 28 Indian states with their capitals and the 8 Union Territories with their capitals in only 23 seconds. She further demonstrated her versatility by answering 302 general knowledge questions in 15 minutes and 16 seconds.
The residents of Pecharthal have lauded her achievements, while her proud parents credit consistent guidance and encouragement for her success. Homashikha’s feat has not only brought honor to her family but also placed her small town on the national stage for academic excellence.
