In a powerful blend of tradition and global recognition, Fu Pai Ejiao was officially certified as the “World’s Oldest Ejiao Brand” by Lawrence World Records on December 21, 2025, marking a milestone in cultural heritage and brand history. The announcement took place during the 76th Shennong Blessing Ceremony in Dong’e Town, widely recognized as the historical birthplace of ejiao a traditional Chinese medicinal gelatin with roots stretching back millennia.
Lawrence World Records’ Certification Officer Aurelian Constantin presented the official world-record certificate to Yang Fu’an, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of Fu Jiao Group, alongside Li Haitao, President of Lawrence World Records China. The accolade confirms Fu Pai Ejiao’s documented history dating back to 1691, making it the oldest continuously operating ejiao brand on record.
The landmark recognition was woven into the ceremonial fabric of the Winter Solstice celebration, a date symbolizing cosmic renewal in traditional Chinese philosophy. Activities included the Dawn Water-Drawing Ritual, where water was collected at midnight (“Yin” water) and at dawn (“Yang” water) from the Gu’e Well and the Langxi River honoring the unique terroir that gives ejiao its distinctive character.
A highlight of the event was the unveiling of the 16th-Generation Master Apprentice Genealogy, illustrating centuries of unbroken craftsmanship and apprenticeship that have helped preserve the ancient method of ejiao production across generations. The ceremony concluded with a symbolic “Fortune Fire” procession, emphasizing the continuity of tradition even as the brand moves toward a digital future.
Ejiao traditionally made from donkey hide gelatin has been an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for centuries, especially revered for its role in nourishing blood and vitality. Dong’e ejiao, in particular, is regarded as authentic and top-quality due to its historic production methods and geographic origins.
