World’s Largest Crab Sculpture Climbs

A colossal crustacean has become a landmark and a world record holder as the world’s largest crab sculpture, welcoming visitors and seafood lovers alike to the Giant Crab Seafood Restaurant in Myrtle Beach. Known affectionately as “Tommy,” this oversized crab statue dominates the restaurant’s façade and serves as a must‑see roadside attraction.

Perched proudly above the entrance, Tommy the Crab measures about 25 feet tall and 34 feet wide, and weighs over four tons, earning recognition from world record trackers for its size and impact on local culture.

Located along Highway 17’s Restaurant Row, the Giant Crab Seafood Restaurant has become known not only for its extensive seafood buffet but also for this striking sculpture that draws drivers’ attention from miles away.

The giant crab’s massive claws and bright red exterior make it one of the most photographed landmarks in the Myrtle Beach area, and visitors often snap selfies with “Tommy” before indulging in crablegs, oysters and seafood classics inside.
