World Record with Epic Cheese Pull Stunt at Cheddar Gorge

Doritos has turned snack marketing into spectacle with a daring stunt that set a new world record for the highest cheese pull ever captured, leveraging creativity, engineering and a helicopter to launch its Doritos Dippers campaign. The extraordinary feat took place at Cheddar Gorge, a site world-famous for its cheese heritage, where a 4-foot-wide giant Dorito chip was lifted into the sky to create a gravity-defying cheesy moment.

As part of the “Next Level Nachos” campaign developed by Doritos and agency VCCP London, the team constructed a mountainous stack of nachos measuring 16 ft wide by 14 ft high, topped with a specially blended 120 kg mix of cheddar and mozzarella. A helicopter then hoisted a massive Dorito into the molten cheese, stretching the melting strands up to 49 feet (15 m) into the air eclipsing typical cheese pull lengths seen on social platforms.

The surreal scene wasn’t just for show it was crafted to coincide with National Guacamole Day and to celebrate the launch of the crunchier, more durable Doritos Dippers designed to carry heavy loads of cheese, guacamole or salsa without breaking.

Cheese pull videos have become a viral trend on platforms like TikTok with billions of views, and Doritos dramatically elevated the idea from snack-time fun to world-record spectacle. Research included in the stunt revealed that while many people have tried cheese pulls at home (averaging only around 13 cm), this record-setting pull reached heights far beyond everyday expectations.

Captured on film and set to be shared across Doritos’ social channels, the stunt blends adventurous marketing with entertainment, showing how far brands will go to break through the noise quite literally and create unforgettable content in the competitive world of digital engagement.
