Gita Jayanti, Madhya Pradesh is set to attempt a Guinness World Record for the largest collective recitation of the Bhagavad Gita today. Under the International Gita Mahotsav programme, over 5,000 acharyas will join together to recite the third chapter of the Gita, “Karma Yoga,” in a state-level event taking place in both Bhopal and Ujjain.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that this momentous event forms part of the International Gita Mahotsav, which runs from 8 to 12 December, and aims to highlight the timeless wisdom of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita. He said the mass recital is being organised with meticulous coordination and is expected to secure official recognition from Guinness World Records.
The programme will feature acharyas and participants from across the state, bringing devotees together in a unified spiritual expression that celebrates the core teachings of Karma Yoga duty, action, and righteousness.
The initiative aligns with Madhya Pradesh’s efforts to promote cultural heritage and spiritual knowledge, and reflects the growing enthusiasm for large-scale unified recitation events that celebrate India’s sacred texts and traditions.
