A roadside attraction near Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, has officially been recognized as the world’s largest paint can, turning an old water tower into a towering tribute to paint and creativity. The enormous structure, painted to resemble a classic Benjamin Moore paint can, stands an impressive 35 feet tall and — if scaled to the size of a real can — could hold an estimated 178,000 gallons of paint.
Originally a regular water storage tank, the giant can was repurposed and transformed by local owners into a giant paint can replica complete with a handle and classic brand design, making it a popular photo stop and roadside curiosity for travelers along Interstate 81.
The record-setting paint can has since become a unique landmark in the region, drawing visitors eager to see the oversized icon in person and snap a selfie beside the world’s largest representation of a paint container.
