Largest live attendance ever for an esports match

Mobile esports ascended to a new height on Saturday as the Honour of Kings World Championship Grand Final officially broke the Guinness World Record for the Largest Live Attendance at an Esports Event.

Held at the iconic China National Stadium, famously known as the Bird’s Nest, the event drew an astonishing, verified crowd of 62,196 fans, cementing Honour of Kings’ place as a global powerhouse in competitive gaming.

The record-breaking attendance demonstrates the unparalleled cultural significance of mobile esports, particularly in China.

The final count of 62,196 spectators surpassed all previous benchmarks for a single-game esports audience. The previous record for an esports-dedicated audience was significantly lower, while the previous overall record for a large gathering related to gaming was set in a public fan zone in Paris.

The Bird’s Nest, the main stadium for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, was transformed into an esports coliseum. Despite the massive stage and screen setup limiting the venue’s full 80,000 capacity, the event managed to fill over 75% of the seats made available for the final.

The incredible demand for the event was highlighted when tickets for the Grand Final sold out in just 12 seconds upon going on sale.

The record-setting crowd was treated to a thrilling championship match. The King Pro League (KPL) 2025 Grand Finals saw All Gamers (AG) defeat their rivals Chongqing Wolves in a decisive 4–2 victory.

The event featured a massive prize pool and confirmed the dominance of Honor of Kings as a financial and cultural phenomenon. Officials from the Guinness World Records were present to verify the attendance, marking a monumental achievement not just for the game, but for the entire mobile esports industry.
