Italian Man Balances 121 Scoops to Set New Ice Cream World Record

Italy’s love for gelato has reached new heights — literally. Dimitri Panciera, an Italian ice-cream maestro, has once again broken his own Guinness World Record by balancing 121 scoops of ice cream on a single cone.

The record-breaking feat took place at the annual Gelatimo Ice Cream Festival in Val di Zoldo, Italy, where Panciera previously held the title with 109 scoops. With remarkable precision and patience, he managed to pile 121 perfectly rounded scoops of artisan gelato onto one cone — without a single one slipping off.

According to Guinness World Records, the challenge rules specify that the cone must have a maximum diameter of 9.5 centimetres, and all scoops must remain balanced for at least 10 seconds after placement to qualify.

Panciera credited his success to the local Val di Zoldo artisan ice cream, known for its creamy texture and firmness — ideal for sculpting such towering treats. “It’s all about using the right gelato,” he said. “The ice cream from our region is the secret ingredient to this record.”

This isn’t Panciera’s first brush with world-record fame. The ice-cream enthusiast also holds the record for crafting the world’s largest ice-cream scoop — a giant 1.95-metre-long spoon, 58 centimetres wide, and 17 centimetres deep, complete with a working ejector mechanism.

With this latest achievement, Panciera continues to embody Italy’s passion for gelato — proving that when it comes to ice cream, there’s always room for one more scoop.
