India’s Largest Railway Station Set to Transform Amaravati’s Connectivity

India is gearing up for one of its most ambitious infrastructure projects — a world-class, airport-style railway station near Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. Spread across a massive 1,500 acres, this futuristic transport hub promises to redefine passenger experience and regional connectivity.
The upcoming station will feature 24 ultra-modern platforms and 4 terminals, with the capacity to handle over 3 lakh passengers per day. Designed to mirror the efficiency and aesthetics of major international airports, the project aims to set new standards for comfort, accessibility, and technology in Indian rail travel.
With an investment of ₹2,245 crore, the project also includes the construction of a 3.2 km bridge over the Krishna River and a 57 km new rail line, linking the station to key routes across South and East India. Once completed in the next 2–3 years, the new hub will serve as a vital junction connecting Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru, significantly cutting travel time and boosting economic growth in the region.
Beyond transport, the Amaravati railway megaproject is expected to become a landmark of modern engineering and sustainability, integrating green energy systems, digital ticketing, and passenger-friendly infrastructure.
With this, Andhra Pradesh is set to host not just India’s largest railway station — but a symbol of the country’s next-generation mobility and vision for progress.
