Artist Sets World Record with Tiniest Sailor Moon Sculpture

A new marvel of miniature art has captured the world’s attention as a world record–holding micro sculptor unveiled the tiniest Sailor Moon sculpture ever created, showcasing extraordinary precision and creativity.

The microscopic masterpiece, measuring just 0.8 millimeters in height, was meticulously crafted by renowned artist Kenji Tanaka, known globally for his record-breaking micro sculptures carved from materials like pencil graphite and grains of rice.

Using a high-powered microscope, surgical blades, and a steady hand honed over years, Tanaka recreated the beloved anime heroine Sailor Moon in stunning detail — complete with her iconic hairstyle, crescent tiara, and sailor outfit.

“I wanted to honor a character who represents courage and light — even in the smallest form imaginable,” Tanaka said during the sculpture’s unveiling in Tokyo.

The sculpture has been officially recognized by the Guinness World Records as the smallest anime character sculpture ever made, adding another achievement to Tanaka’s impressive list of micro art records.

Art enthusiasts and anime fans alike are calling the creation a fusion of science, art, and pop culture, proving that even the tiniest creations can make a massive impact.
