97-Year-Old Ohio Dentist Continues to Transform Lives with Passion and Dedication

At 97 years old, Dr. Richard Zink is living proof that age is no barrier to following your passion. As the oldest practicing dentist in Ohio, Dr. Zink continues to serve his community with unwavering dedication and an infectious enthusiasm for his craft.

Dr. Zink’s fascination with dentistry began in childhood, when he would play “dentist” with corn cobs, imagining the kernels were teeth. That playful curiosity eventually evolved into a lifelong vocation. After earning his dental license from Ohio State University in 1958, he has spent over six decades transforming the smiles – and lives – of countless patients.

Beyond his private practice at T-Town Smiles, Dr. Zink is deeply committed to community dentistry. He volunteers at Tent City events, providing free dental care to people experiencing homelessness, and specializes in creating dentures and implants for low-income patients. Through his work, he offers more than dental solutions – he restores confidence and dignity to those he serves.

Even after nearly a century of life, Dr. Zink’s passion remains as strong as ever. “As long as they feed me cookies,” he says with a laugh, explaining that simple joys keep him going. He hopes to continue working “full force” until he turns 100, inspiring everyone around him with his energy, dedication, and love for the profession.

Dr. Richard Zink’s story is a testament to the power of commitment, compassion, and the human spirit. In a world where retirement is often expected after a certain age, Dr. Zink reminds us that true purpose and passion can defy the limits of time, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
