15-Year-Old Sarthak Arya Wins India’s First-Ever Table Tennis Medal at Asian Youth Games

In a monumental achievement for Indian table tennis, young paddler Sarthak Arya has secured the country’s first-ever medal at the prestigious Asian Youth Games. The 15-year-old clinched a historic bronze medal in the mixed doubles event at the 3rd Asian Youth Games held in Manama, Bahrain, partnering Syndrela Das of West Bengal.

The medal marks a significant breakthrough for India at the continental youth competition, affirming the potential of the nation’s emerging talent on the global stage.
Representing India’s U-18 team, Arya and Das displayed a blend of exceptional skill and remarkable composure throughout the tournament. The duo navigated a challenging draw before their spirited run concluded in the semifinal against strong Asian opponents, ultimately securing the bronze medal.

Sarthak Arya, currently training at the Rainbow Khelo India Residential Academy in Himachal Pradesh, is quickly establishing himself as a formidable force in youth table tennis.
