“Indian Marathoner Vishak Krishnaswamy Sets World Record, Now Chasing 10,000 km Glory”

Ultramarathoner Vishak Krishnaswamy, already a Guinness World Record holder for the “Most Consecutive Days to Run a Marathon Distance (Male),” is embarking on an awe-inspiring quest to run 10,000 kilometers in just 119 consecutive days, a staggering challenge that would cement his legacy in the world of endurance running.

Krishnaswamy, a runner from Dombivli, previously earned global recognition for his incredible feat of running a full marathon (42.195 km) every single day for 62 consecutive days. This achievement, which involved logging a total of over 2,600 km, broke the previous record and demonstrated his extraordinary physical and mental fortitude.

The new world record attempt requires the ultra-runner to maintain an average daily distance of approximately 84 kilometers for nearly four straight months.

The 10,000 km challenge is being undertaken to raise awareness for fitness and a healthy lifestyle. Krishnaswamy shared that his motivation comes from a deep desire to push the boundaries of human endurance and to inspire the younger generation.

Krishnaswamy is known for his dedication, having previously also set a record for running a barefoot half-marathon for 21 consecutive days. For the 10,000 km run, he is reportedly tracking his progress via GPS devices, with his journey closely monitored for official verification by Guinness World Records.

“The biggest hurdle is the mental battle,” Krishnaswamy has stated about the intense attempt. “But the thought of not letting down the people who support me keeps that little blue dot [on the GPS tracker] moving forward.”

The running community, both in India and internationally, is closely following Krishnaswamy’s progress as he attempts to conquer what many deem an “impossible” distance, further showcasing the power of the human spirit.
