Rohan Shah Eyes World Record After Medal Haul in Thailand Championship

Following a stellar performance at the 12th World Strength Lifting & Incline Bench Press Championship in Thailand, Indian athlete Rohan Shah has set his sights on a new, ambitious goal: breaking a world record. The 25-year-old, who recently clinched a gold and a silver medal, believes his journey to true greatness has only just begun.

Competing against some of the strongest athletes from across the globe, Rohan’s performance in Thailand was a testament to his unmatched power and precision. In the strength lifting discipline, he lifted an impressive 210 kg, and a further 62.5 kg in the Two-Hand Curl, bringing his total to a combined 272.5 kg. This extraordinary effort placed him among the top three lifters in the world.

“There is always another mountain to climb,” Rohan said, reflecting his belief that true champions never stop pushing boundaries. He acknowledges that while two international medals are a career-defining achievement, his focus is now firmly on turning his global top-three ranking into a world record.

Rohan’s journey is one of relentless discipline and dedication. He shared that he trains twice a day, four hours per session, with zero rest days—a strict regimen he followed for an entire year leading up to the championship. This consistency and grit have earned him deep respect within the strength lifting community and among sports enthusiasts across India.

As he now prepares for his next challenge, the country will be watching, hopeful that this determined athlete will soon bring home another historic record for India.
