In a spectacular display of technological prowess, a massive fleet of drones lit up the night sky over Shenzhen to celebrate China’s National Day, earning the drone light show company Damoda two new Guinness World Records. The breathtaking spectacle, dubbed a “cyber firework,” captivated audiences and showcased China’s growing leadership in the field of drone technology.
A total of 10,197 drones were launched simultaneously from a single computer, setting a new record for the “most multirotors/drones airborne simultaneously from a single computer (outdoors).” The synchronized fleet then maneuvered into intricate formations, creating the “largest aerial image formed by multirotors/drones” and clinching a second world record.
The record-breaking event took place at Shenzhen Bay Park and was the kickoff for a week-long series of drone shows across five different districts of the city. The show’s theme, “City of Sky, Maybe Shenzhen,” used the drones to form images of iconic city landmarks and symbols of innovation, highlighting Shenzhen’s rapid transformation into a global hub for technology and futurism.
This latest achievement surpasses previous records set by China itself, cementing the country’s dominance in the field. The scale and precision of the show, which was visible for miles, demonstrate the country’s commitment to integrating advanced technology with public celebration and cultural expression.
