Recognizing a lifetime dedicated to Indian philosophy, Sanskrit scholarship, and academic excellence, the Government of India has conferred the prestigious Padma Shri on Shri Navjivan Rastogi from Uttar Pradesh for his outstanding contribution to the field of Literature and Education.
An eminent scholar and professor, Shri Rastogi is widely acknowledged as one of the foremost authorities on Kashmir Shaivism and Indian metaphysics. His deep and insightful research has significantly enriched the understanding of Indian philosophical traditions and brought global attention to classical Sanskrit thought.
With a teaching career spanning decades, Shri Rastogi has inspired countless students and scholars through his academic rigor, mentorship, and profound knowledge. He has authored numerous research papers and books, many of which are considered landmark works in the fields of Shaiva philosophy, Indology, and comparative religion.
