“Saurav Kumar, 9, Honoured with Pradhan Mantri ccfor Heroic Rescue”

In a moment of national pride, Saurav Kumar, a 9-year-old boy from Bihar, has been conferred the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar for exceptional bravery, after he heroically saved three young girls from drowning.

The daring rescue took place near a river in his village, where the girls accidentally slipped into deep waters while playing. Without any formal training or hesitation, Saurav jumped into the river and pulled all three to safety—one by one.

His quick thinking, immense courage, and selfless act have not only made him a local hero but also earned him national recognition as a symbol of youthful valor and responsibility.

Saurav received the award from the President of India in a grand ceremony held in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met the brave child and praised his fearlessness, calling him an inspiration for the entire nation.

“Children like Saurav reflect the true spirit of India — fearless, compassionate, and ready to help others even at personal risk,” said the Prime Minister.

The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is India’s highest civilian honour for children under the age of 18. It is awarded for excellence in various fields including bravery, innovation, scholastic achievement, social service, sports, and arts & culture.

Saurav received the award in the Bravery category, joining a rare group of young heroes who have shown extraordinary courage in life-threatening situations.

Saurav’s parents expressed pride and gratitude, saying their son’s instinct to save lives, even at great personal risk, has moved people far beyond their village. Social media platforms are filled with tributes, hailing Saurav as “India’s little savior.”

His story serves as a powerful reminder that bravery knows no age, and even the youngest among us can become a beacon of hope and heroism.
