“Riyadh’s KAFD Sets World Record for Longest Pedestrian Skywalk at 15.46 km”

The King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in Riyadh has etched its name into the record books with a landmark achievement. Its futuristic Skywalk network has officially been recognised by Guinness World Records as the longest continuous pedestrian skyway in the world, stretching an impressive 15.46 kilometres.

Connecting 95 buildings across the district, the elevated and enclosed Skywalk system enables seamless, shaded, and climate-controlled pedestrian movement, significantly reducing reliance on motor vehicles. The Skywalks are at the heart of KAFD’s vision to create a smart, walkable, and eco-conscious urban hub.

Developed by the King Abdullah Financial District Development and Management Company, the Skywalk is more than just a record-breaking structure — it’s a symbol of future-ready urban infrastructure. The project blends sustainable architecture, smart mobility, and human-centric design, aligning closely with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

“By prioritising pedestrians over cars, we’re not only improving quality of life but also reinforcing our commitment to sustainability,” said a KAFD spokesperson.

KAFD is one of the region’s most ambitious development zones, designed to become a global financial hub. The Skywalk’s record adds to its portfolio of innovations in green building, public transportation integration, and urban livability.

As cities around the world strive to become more walkable and sustainable, Riyadh’s KAFD — now home to the world’s longest pedestrian skywalk — has emerged as a shining example of urban planning for the 21st century.
