Pune’s Narendra Dhayagude Sets World Record as First Divine Conch Artist

PUNE, MAHARASHTRA, INDIA – July 26, 2025 – Mr. Narendra Gopal Dhayagude, born on November 20, 1960, from Pune, Maharashtra, has achieved a groundbreaking new world record, becoming the First Divine Conch Artist. He has been officially recognized by World Records India for his extraordinary ability to produce a wide variety of unique sounds and musical renditions using a divine conch (Vishnu Shankh) as a sophisticated musical instrument.

Dhayagude’s record-setting performance showcased an astounding range of rhythmic sound artistry. He successfully performed the entire seven musical notes octave (Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa-Dha-Ni-Sa), demonstrating the conch’s surprising melodic capability. Beyond classical notes, his repertoire included the Indian National Anthem, other beloved melodies such as “Saare Jahan Se Achha,” various spiritual mantras and aartis, and even common rhymes like birthday songs.

Further pushing the boundaries of conch artistry, Dhayagude also delivered impressive imitations of diverse sounds, including bird calls and the precise Tic-Tack notes of Morse code signalling. This unique blend of musicality and sound imitation highlights his unparalleled skill and innovative approach to playing the traditional conch shell.
