In a proud moment for India, Chhagan Meena, a head constable with the Rajasthan Police, has won a gold medal in wrestling at the prestigious World Police and Fire Games 2025, held in the United States.
Representing the strength and discipline of India’s law enforcement, Chhagan hails from Khatuundra village in Nagaur district, Rajasthan. A dedicated wrestler trained at Pushkar Vyayam Shala, he dominated his weight category to bring home the top honor, making his state and the country proud.
“This victory is not just mine—it belongs to every police officer, every wrestler, and every citizen who supported me,” said Chhagan after the win.
His gold medal contributes to India’s growing tally at the Games, which feature thousands of police officers, firefighters, and emergency personnel from around the world competing in over 60 disciplines.
The World Police and Fire Games have become a platform for Indian first responders to showcase their athleticism and spirit. Alongside Chhagan, other Indian athletes have also earned medals in taekwondo, athletics, and shooting.
Chhagan Meena’s victory is more than just a sporting achievement—it reflects the grit, discipline, and talent within India’s police forces and inspires a generation of youth to pursue both public service and sports with pride.
