In a historic celebration of culture and joy, Disneyland brought the spirit of Punjab to Main Street as it hosted its first-ever Punjabi Parade, complete with energetic dhol performances, vibrant bhangra dancers, and high-octane “Hadippa” vibes that left visitors thrilled and dancing in the streets.
The festive parade was part of Disneyland’s “Global Cultures Celebration Week”, showcasing India’s rich heritage through a dazzling display of music, color, and tradition.
- Live dhol drummers echoing across the park
- Traditional bhangra and giddha dancers dressed in colorful phulkari-inspired costumes
- Floats featuring Punjabi folk themes, truck art designs, and Bollywood flair
- A grand finale featuring the iconic track “Hadippa” that turned the entire park into a giant dance floor
The parade was led by beloved Disney characters who joined in wearing specially-designed Punjabi-inspired outfits, dancing alongside professional performers from India and the Indian diaspora.
“It’s a dream to see our traditions celebrated on such a magical stage,” said Gurpreet Kaur, one of the parade choreographers. “From the dhol beats to the bhangra moves, everything was authentic and electric!”
Visitors from around the world joined in the fun, many learning dance steps, donning turbans, and participating in a mini bhangra flash mob that went viral on social media within hours.Disneyland’s Punjabi Parade is part of a broader effort by Disney to embrace multiculturalism and celebrate diverse global traditions — marking a milestone for South Asian representation in mainstream entertainment.
For one unforgettable evening, Disneyland wasn’t just the happiest place on Earth — it was the most colorful, musical, and joyful place for Punjabi pride, proving once again that celebration knows no borders.
