St Albans Crafters Set Guinness World Record with 102 Festive Post Box Toppers

A group of talented knitters, crocheters, and quilters from St Albans Postboxes have made history by setting a new Guinness World Record for the largest display of textile post box toppers in one place.

The team unveiled 102 unique, Christmas-themed creations that adorned post boxes across St Albans and surrounding villages throughout the festive season. The dazzling and heartwarming display, which became a beloved local attraction, was officially recognised under a newly created Guinness World Records category.

Beyond the artistic flair, the initiative also served a meaningful purpose — raising over £30,000 for local charities.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be Guinness World Record title holders,” said Clare Suttie, the lead organiser from St Albans Postboxes. “This has brought joy to the community and vital support to important causes.”

The record-breaking feat celebrates not only festive creativity but also community spirit, showcasing how a shared love for craft can make a lasting impact.
