The skyline of Mumbai has a new reigning monarch. Palais Royale, located in Worli, has officially earned the title of India’s tallest building, standing majestically at 320 metres with 88 floors. The supertall residential skyscraper marks a defining moment in India’s architectural journey and urban luxury living.
Construction of Palais Royale began in 2008 and, despite numerous legal and environmental hurdles, the structure topped out in 2018. Its architectural height eclipses all other buildings in the country, symbolizing not just vertical expansion, but also the evolving aspirations of India’s real estate and design sectors.
- Height: 320 metres
- Floors: 88
- Location: Worli, Mumbai
- Expected Completion: End of 2025
- Notable: One of India’s first residential skyscrapers designed with sustainable green building features
Designed as a luxury eco-conscious residential tower, Palais Royale includes world-class amenities, sky decks, green terraces, and panoramic views of the Arabian Sea. It was also one of the earliest buildings in India registered for the LEED Platinum rating.
After facing years of litigation and delays, the project was revived and pushed toward completion by Honest Shelters Pvt. Ltd. It now symbolizes both engineering brilliance and project resilience.
Palais Royale surpasses Lokhandwala Minerva (301 m) and World One (280 m) to lead India’s skyline. Mumbai, already home to most of the nation’s tallest buildings, continues to dominate the high-rise trend as India’s vertical growth accelerates.
“Palais Royale is more than a skyscraper—it’s a statement,” said a senior architect involved in the project. “It reflects a new India ready to rise, literally and symbolically.”
With completion expected by the end of 2025, Palais Royale will not only stand as a marvel of steel, concrete, and glass—but also as a tribute to Mumbai’s skyward dreams.
