Ben Melham, a 42-year-old museum enthusiast, has officially set a Guinness World Records title for the most museums visited in 24 hours, racing across London on a kick scooter to complete the feat.
On 25 October, Melham zipped through 42 museums, including renowned institutions such as the Barbican Art Gallery, the British Museum, the Science Museum, and the Natural History Museum, navigating the bustling city streets with precision and determination.
His record-breaking effort has now been formally verified by Guinness World Records, earning him the title and surpassing the previous record of 33 museums set by Sujoy Kumar Mitra and Swaroop Dawrani in Delhi, India.
“It was a whirlwind of art, science, and history — on wheels,” Melham joked. “But it was worth every push on the scooter.”
The record showcases not just a love for museums, but also creativity and endurance, and has captured the attention of cultural and adventure enthusiasts alike.
