Indian Teen Sets Guinness World Record by Singing in 140 Languages for Climate Awareness

Indian expat Suchetha Satish has set a new Guinness World Record by performing songs in 140 languages during a single concert lasting nine hours, all sung from memory — an extraordinary feat dedicated to climate awareness.

Her unique performance, titled ‘Concert for Climate’, took place on November 24, 2023, at the Indian Consulate Auditorium in Dubai, ahead of the COP28 UN Climate Conference. The event served as a powerful call for global unity in addressing climate change.

The Guinness World Records officially recognized her achievement on January 3, 2024, and she was awarded the certificate by Satish Kumar Sivan, the Consul General of India in Dubai, who praised her dedication and global message.

While she had prepared songs in 150 languages, Suchetha chose to sing in 140 to symbolically honour the 140 heads of state invited to COP28. Her record-setting performance highlights the role of youth, music, and culture in driving climate action.
