India Sets World Record with Largest Wheelchair Logo on PM Modi’s 66th Birthday in Navsari

In a powerful display of inclusion and unity, the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disability, Government of India, along with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), created the world’s largest wheelchair logo/image, featuring 1,000 participants, on 17 September 2016 in Navsari, Gujarat.

The event was organized to celebrate the 66th birthday of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, and marked a significant moment in the government’s ongoing ‘Accessible India’ campaign—a nationwide initiative aimed at creating a barrier-free environment for persons with disabilities.

Held during a special event for ‘Divyangs’ (differently-abled individuals), the record-breaking formation was one of three Guinness World Records successfully achieved that day. The massive wheelchair logo served as a visual symbol of the nation’s commitment to empowerment, dignity, and accessibility for all citizens.

This extraordinary feat showcased the government’s dedication to inclusivity and sent a strong message of support to the differently-abled community across India and the world.
