Rachana Construction Builds India’s Largest Precast PSC Segmental Twin Cell Box, Sets New Record

Rachana Construction Co., a renowned bridge construction and infrastructure firm based in Gujarat, has achieved a landmark feat by manufacturing India’s largest precast PSC (Prestressed Concrete) segmental twin cell box. The colossal structure measures 10 meters in height, 16 meters in width, and 20 meters in length, with a precast base slab size of approximately 3 × 9.3 / 7.1 meters each.

The massive segment was constructed using around 847 cubic meters of concrete, 21 tonnes of iron, 347 tonnes of steel, and other cement materials. It was successfully installed at the Valsad Road Over Bridge (ROB) situated between Valsad and Pardi Railway Station, Gujarat.

This project, known as CPT-2, is part of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) and is being executed under the visionary leadership of Mr. Navinbhai I. Patel, Director of Rachana Construction Company, for their client IRCON International Limited, in partnership with the EFC Consortium.

The installation on June 7, 2021, sets a new national record and highlights Rachana Construction’s expertise in delivering large-scale infrastructure solutions critical for India’s expanding freight corridor network.
